Balmain spring 2013 ready-to-wear..

Some of my favourites from the collection

Anyone who knows me well will know i'm obsessed with Balmain. Everytime, it fascinates me, it's totally my style and the clothes in this collection are more than amazing, I applaud Olivier Rousteing!

First of all, i'm LOVING the monochrome trend for spring/summer. I love simple black and white outfits and some might say it's a bit boring for summer but anyone can make it look good if they try. It's such an effortless trend but can look good if you do it right. Balmain have incorporated monochrome into the collection and this shows just how amazing it can look if you go that little bit further to get it right.

The wicker look on the garments look slightly strange but i love it. Especially that sleeveless white wicker jumpsuit, i actually said "WOW" when i first saw it. It's gorgeous and i'd definitely wear that on a night out if i had the cash, haha! Also love the white wicker blazer, but not anyone could pull that off. Also, that dress with the black leather skirt is something you could easy see in the high street shops soon, i'm just waiting till i see a similar copy of it!

The only thing i'd change are the shoulders. Balmain have always been known for their big shoulders but he definitely could of been a bit more subtle on some of the garments, makes some of it look abit out-dated.

Overall an AMAZING collection again, always impressed.

Thanks for reading, what are your thoughts?

  1. What an incredible collection. Always been a fan of Balmain. Have to agree about the dress with the leather skirt, a definite favourite! Looks amazing paired with ankle boots too! xx

  2. Hey lovely, I have nominated you for the Liebster Award. Check out my latest post for all the information!

    1. Hi, thanks for the nomination, much appreciated.

      I will post this soon :) X

  3. Hi just found your blog! I absolutely love the monochrome look, it looks good on all shapes/sizes and can look so simple, yet effective. Would also look great with a bronzed summer tan. ZARA do some great staple pieces that are monochrome such as sheer shirts. I got one a while back for £23 which I think is a reasonable price :) Great post, amazing collection!

If you have a chance, take a little look at my blog? If you enjoy it, maybe we could follow each other? Lucy x x
